I posted this to offer some context for my (and only my) efforts and mindset while working on the Frankie Teardrop video. I can't speak for Suicide or the other film-makers. For me context is everything and this ad well represents what passed for "rock radio" at the time I was working on the video. I note from the comments that the reactions often use words like bleak and creepy. So while not apologizing about the video, I wanted first-time views in the 21st Century to look at this ad and travel back to the super retro/bland landscape of rock music in 1977. Punk had not caught on at all and this is what we were up against. So again a little insight into my mindset and agenda, yea I wanted to rock the boat. -Paul Dougherty
